Speak Across Borders was born from two complementary paths brought together by a shared belief: language learning should be practical, personal, and enjoyable.
Nathalie holds a PhD in Education from the University of Bristol and a Master’s degree from CINVESTAV, Mexico. She has worked as a researcher, university lecturer, and consultant for the United Nations, with extensive experience teaching languages, mathematics, and teacher education. Her passion is helping learners gain the confidence to communicate through supportive, engaging, and personalized instruction.
Gerardo brings expertise in computer science, educational technology, and digital communication. His focus is on creating intuitive learning experiences that combine innovation with simplicity, making language learning accessible, engaging, and genuinely human.
Together, we created Speak Across Borders to offer a different kind of language school—one where learning is centered on meaningful communication, personalized guidance, and the confidence to use Spanish in real life. Rather than memorizing rules for a test, our students develop the skills to connect, communicate, and thrive across cultures.

I am Nathalie, an educator, researcher, and language teacher with a degree in Computer Science from IPN, an MSc in Educational Research from CINVESTAV, and a PhD in Education from the University of Bristol, UK.
Over the years, I have taught students of all ages, worked as a consultant for international organizations including the United Nations, and contributed to educational projects for schools and universities.
These experiences have shaped my teaching philosophy: every student learns differently, so lessons should be personalized, practical, and supportive.
My goal is to help you develop the confidence to communicate naturally in Spanish through engaging lessons tailored to your needs and goals.

A former design and story-telling teacher, I make sure our learning space stays simple, warm and human.
