Speak Across Borders was born from two paths that complement each other.
Nathalie brings a PhD in Education from the University of Bristol, a Master’s from CINVESTAV and years as a researcher and consultant for the UN, with a lifelong passion for teaching — from languages to mathematics — and for creating calm, supportive spaces where people find the confidence to speak.
Gerardo brings the communication and technology side, with a background in Computer Science and a focus on making learning clear, accessible and human.
Together we wanted a language school that feels less like a formal test and more like a guided conversation

I am a researcher, consultant and teacher with a degree in Computer Science (IPN), an MSc in Educational Research (CINVESTAV) and a PhD in Education from the University of Bristol, UK.
I currently work as a consultant for international organizations including the United Nations and direct Hipatia México.
My work has included designing teaching resources for ILCE, editing textbooks, and advising Mexico’s Ministry of Public Education.
Alongside research, I have always taught — in public and private institutions, at all levels, including online Master’s tutoring.
My focus has spanned from language teaching to mathematics, always with the same aim: to create learning spaces that are clear, supportive and free from unnecessary stress.
I’m Gerardo, language tutor at Speak Across Borders. I personally accompany each student, following your interests and progress closely so learning feels tailored, not generic.
I lead in our Conversation Clubs — relaxed, guided sessions where you gain real confidence speaking.
A former design and story-telling teacher, I make sure our learning space stays simple, warm and human.
With a background in technology and digital communication, I also lead the design of Speak Across Borders, creating a calm, clear space where you can focus on what matters: gaining confidence to speak
